I was in Qatar in 2000 – 2001 and I can confirm that everything is tragically true. Every time I went to work, I would see these poor workers laying asphalt in the scorching heat. Nobody seemed to care that they could fall and die.<br /><br />Personally, I don't see change coming anytime soon because the West is interested in nothing but maintaining a good relationship with the Gulf because of their gas and oil. Most probably they will continue to collaborate rather than oppose for many years ahead.
